Tests make me nervous. What can I expect on the test day?

Don’t worry; you’re not alone, it’s completely normal to feel nervous. So there are no surprises on test day, this video will talk through what you can expect.

The IELTS test has four components. Three components − Listening, Reading and Writing − are always taken on the same day, in the same session.

The Speaking component may be sat the same day or taken up to seven days before or after the other tests, depending on your test centre.

The IELTS test implements sophisticated, biometric security measures which protect candidates and organisations from attempts to cheat. You will go through an ID check when you arrive at the venue and will need to leave your personal belongings in a safe place outside of the test room.

When it is time to enter the test room, an invigilator will show you to your seat. If you have a question, you can put up your hand and a staff member will assist you.
