I did IELTS last September and I had a much lower score for the writing compared to listening and reading. Why this happened?

Hi Tiziana!
This is something my students who come to me after taking the IELTS test often ask. I think this is because for Academic IELTS you have to write a report and then an essay, things you don’t do in everyday life in your first language let alone in English. So, spend some extra time in the run up to test day practising this skill. Websites such as IELTS Liz and Ielts Advantage have some excellent self study advice or check out our Writing masterclasses on the IDP Europe website: Writing Task 1: https://youtube/V0EnhagoVFQ or Writing Task 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PcjotLwtJo&feature=youtu.be
Happy Christmas!
